Holidays In Egypt

A holiday in Egypt means a holiday to one of the oldest civilisations on the Earth. Egypt is home to some of the oldest monuments and artifacts on the planet but holidays in Egypt are about so much more than museums and visits to ancient buildings in the desert. Whatever you're looking for from a holiday, you'll be sure to find it in Egypt.

Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh holidays are now one of the most popular holiday destinations for those holidaying in Egypt. Sharm El Sheikh is quite possibly the most extraordinary and diverse destination for diving in the whole of the Middle East (and beyond) and is situated right on the coast of the Red Sea. The resort has a truly fantastic reputation with scuba divers for the superb crystal clear waters and magnificent coral and exotic under water flora and fauna that are there to be found.

Na'ama Bay

This long sandy bay is where the first major international hotel was built, in the early 1980s. It's full of shops, restaurants and bars and don't forget those "sheesha" cafes.

Whilst Sharm El Sheikh is an extremely popular destination for British visitors, it is by no means the most popular. The ancient cities of Cairo, Luxor and Aswan are very popular destinations in their own right.

Cairo is home to the Egyptian Museum, a maginificent building in its own right, built by the British in colonial times to house the thousands of artefacts found in the tombs of the ancient Pharos. You'll also find amazement in Coptic Cairo (home to the Christians of Egypt) and the Pyramids in the nearby city of Giza.

If you travel down the nile a few hundred miles or so you'll next come to Luxor. Luxor (or Thebes as it once was) is the start of many a Nile cruise holiday and you'll sample the delights of the ancient monuments as you travel down the Nile and head to your journey's end at Aswan to view the marvellous and engineering wonder of the Aswan high damn. And don't forget the marvellous temples at Abu Simble.

So whatever your reason for a holidays in Egypt, you're sure not to be disappointed. And who better to book it with than the Travel Wizard!!!
