Christmas Holidays Are The Perfect Cure For Winter Blues
Christmas is known to all as a time to eat, drink and be merry. But that's not true for everyone. For many, Christmas is a time of incredible lows, depression and disappointment.
Cliff Anall, a leading British psychologist, has recently stated that getting abroad for the Christmas period can be the perfect cure for those winter blues.
Have you ever heard of the Blue Monday formula? Well this was a formula designed by Cliff in which he worked out what the most unhappy time of the year was and he found that Christmas was losing all its joyful qualities for many because of the sheer commercialism that is present during the festive period.
"Christmas is becoming soulless. A winter holiday is good for the soul. It is something refreshing, different and a real opportunity to let go of the performance element of Christmas and get some serious relaxation and pampering." That's what Mr Anall has said and we can't see that there is anything more true in life.
Having fun should be top of the agenda for anybody in late December and so if you can't find what you need at home then you should definitely go on holiday instead. So to make sure that you get the most out of your holiday this Christmas, look for somewhere warm. You don't have to fly half way around the world to enjoy a warm Christmas and many of the famous summer resorts of Europe also enjoy a nice warm temperature over winter. Places like Benidorm, the Costa del Sol, Portugal, the Canaries, Southern Italy and Turkey all enjoy seasonal highs in the twenties over December & January.
You should also look to have as much fun as possible, so make sure you choose a resort with some activities. Most people have heard of Loro Parque in Tenerife (where you can enjoy a wide range of animal shows and attractions, but there are also some exciting amusement parks in places like Benidorm, Torremolinos and the Algarve.
